I have no family and the only one of my friends totally alone and very isolated. The others don't seem to take as much care as I do (shrug), but everyone has to do what they think is best for them. When one friend told me of 2 of her friends testing positive, whom she had seen within the week of testing, even though everyone was supposedly doing the right thing, I said "and THIS is why I don't see anyone". I've tried zoom a few times but my internet isn't the best, so there's always the phone.

Sorry to hear about your sister darling, and I'm so glad she's not showing symptoms. Florida is a bad state to be in for covid cases.

I didn't know two of your sisters passed away. So sad. So young too.

I keep in touch with my sisters via facebook, but I recently had a falling out with my youngest sister. She has major issues, and my other sisters & I have always had to try to seriously just tolerate her. I think every family must have one sibling, or relative like that. lol

Thoughts from the Garden...

My sister is 10 hours away and my brother is still in CO. Since I cant get my speakers to work zoom isnt possible ,which just might be ok except my nephew Kevin is getting married Jan 9 in an Airbnb in the Adirondacks- maybe a link to the service - no wedding as Amy works in a hospital= party later when things are clear. I am quite cool with being by myself

That was a very thoughtful thing for you to do, and likely a pleasant surprise for your sister. Hope she stays symptom-free, and I hope the year ends on a pleasant note for you all.

It's a blessing that I have my brother and my three sisters all living in the same city as myself.
I have to go for tests (colonoscopy/endoscopy) at the hospital on Saturday but I need to have a swab three days before in case I prove positive for CONIVIRUS. Like your sister, I don't have any symptoms. I will have to self-isolate after I've had the test and I will get a text with the result before I go into hospital.
I'm anxious myself, so I really feel for your sister.

I'm in NY and most of my family is in Texas. WE use Facebook Messenger or Facetime to video conference. Also, I do funny videos on Snapchat to make them laugh.

Dear Miss, first of all I am sending lots of positive energy for your sister.

In reply to your question, all my family are living on the other side of the globe. We see each other in person extremely rarely. It makes every meeting very special. Initially, before the Internet, contact was rare and expensive. Phone tariffs were exorbitant.
Meanwhile it has become so much easier. But the next physical meeting is probably years away...

Keeping-connected kisses,

Technology has been a major factor in helping people through this crisis in terms of making them feel less alone. I wonder what would have happened had this pandemic hit in the 80s or 90s.

Haven't seen my brother or his family for two years now - they live just under 100 miles away. Would have likely have seen them at some point during the summer but that thought was curtailed. Will have to wait until next year now.

Anyway, wishing your sister a speedy recovery.
