Has Anyone Else Had This Problem Via A*F*F
Has Anyone Else Had This Problem Via A*F*F The problem being a stranger contacting you by email and requesting payment to not expose your presence here to family or friends. Something the same or similar to what happened to my buddy LindoBoy as described [post 4187669] . The timeline being since the beginning of 2019. One reason I'm asking is because I know someone else who has. I'm not at a point to say there is something wide spread happening - just gathering information at this point. If you don't want to make it public feel free to post it to my private post - Private Mailbox For Our Eyes Only UPDATE: This has nothing to do with alleged scammers / fakes ON the site. Please read the post by LindoBoy for the specifics. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. |

Your blog had a lot of good points to it and your right there are always a lot of scammers.

I got hit by the safe sex id scam. Ended up on some weird "inmateswantlove" site. ewwww. Contacted them and said I was scammed so they cancelled the charge. But... weeks later, suddenly got charges from sites I never even heard of. A nightmare, had to cancel my card, and luckily Visa cleared all the charges. The rep from Visa told me they get tons of scammed customers from FuckBookHookups. Reported the scammer but it kept popping up under different cities. I have to wonder how many of these are run/sanctioned by FuckBookHookups. Tried to deep dive into FuckBookHookups and affiliates, whoa, what a tangle. Couldn't get past all the shell companies. So I even take FuckBookHookups with a grain of salt now. C'est La Vie

What somewhat links the blackmail attempts to this site is the threat to "out" people based on the sexual content of the threat (pics, cams, videos), While that could be from another 'sex site' it does narrow down the type of site the was h@cked. We also know, confirmed by outside sources, that A*F*F (et al) has been breached at least once (very possibly twice) since I started blogging (2014). When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

That's terrible, I got an email not here on the site, but it said they wanted me to pay something to bitcoin. I deleted it this is crazy as they have done this to some other members here saying they saw them on cam. This is so crazy I don't know who is behind this stuff, but I hope they get caught soon!!! When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

In my case, the person and I chatted here first, then took our chat off of here, to another platform. There was no hack......... When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

This is about strangers making contact, and wanting payment, OFFSITE on member's private email, which seems to have been acquired via h@cking the site.

If I get an email from a stranger on here, I wont be able to read it as I'm only a standard member. If that's how they're going about the scam, then there's a flaw in their plan. I have read a couple of people externally being emailed similar scams - the "we've seen you on webcam logging in to illegal sites, pay us in bitcoin or we'll tell your family/friends" routine - but I can't vouch for where the email addresses were obtained from. It seems like the initial email contact does contain a valid password so it was probably due to some historic hack of some kind. I'm quite confident I'm not identifiable off-site from here anyway - I'm careful about what information I post - so it is doubtful anyone would be able to expose any info about me to my "friends". Never tried to see if my photo would appear elsewhere using tineye, but it would probably find me on LesbianPersonals and if they want to expose me that I'm signed up to that site, then there's an interesting conversation I'd need to have with my family. Don't let anyone you know fall for the scam. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

The people who've been contacted never initiated contact with the person(s) on or off the site. There is no indication, that I am aware of, that the person(s) were ever a member of the site. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I mainly keep my IM set to busy (but it often mysteriously changes back to green)! I have had a number of messages ending with a g(ee)mail addy. That's all I need to see...that's a red light to me.

It’s the usual thing where people are pretending to be someone who they are not to trick you into giving up control or money. Trust your gut

Good to know. I think the bitcion thing suggests this is a newer round of blackmail. The question is is the info they are using from the past breeches or a new one. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I'm from royal blood, and everybody knows we're all a bunch of preverts. There's literally nothing anyone could have that would give them any power over me, anyway. I'd just troll them.

Hmm.. not my presence here. But I did get an email . The sender said I had downloaded a teen site and they had a video of me masturbating to a video on the site. Evidently they hacked into my computer when I downloaded the site. I do like younger men but not that young and I didn't download anything that I recall. They want me to send $2,000 to a site which would make it into Bitcoin or something like that. They give me twenty-four hours or release said video to my email contacts which they claimed to have. When I did nothing they send me another email giving me another 48 hours. I did nothing and didn't hear from them again. So that's my experience I'm sharing. i have never had anyone blackmailed yet. but last spring, i heard on news, there was an incident, involves the male member on this site being extorted by a con... story goes, a male member was exchanging message though this site with a female member who claims 18 year old in age. a few days later a man claimed her father send him message, saying she was actually underage. then the father wanted the male member to send $500 on a prepaid credit card or the father will tell the general public about it. well...the member went to authority, he did not pay... so this is definitely going on...

I reckon this is a lot more widespread than we would believe. People who are, for whatever reason, vulnerable may have been blackmailed and may now be too ashamed (or scared) to talk to anyone about it. In my case, we chatted for a while, then made tentative arrangements to meet, it gave me an account number into which I was to deposit money for an hotel (which I didn't do, but initially only because we hadn't arranged a date), then it progressed to adding a zero as the price for its silence. Fortunately I had given nothing away, and would never have progressed much further than we already had without exchanging numbers for a voice call. The profile was an old one (may have been hacked or may have been playing the long game) and very plausible. With hindsight, there were some difficult to discern signs. Heavy sigh of relief for me, as I say though, I'm not so sure that many others have got off so lightly......... When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. i personally dont care what anyone thinks about my life style choices. If they dont like my life then they dont have to be in. Sex is not shameful itself. People who lie, cheat, or steal should be ashamed and krama a bitch. Be proud you have the gusts to live your life the way you choose. the world will not end for you if your family/friends find you're on a sex dating site. if they have issues after finding out you're on here ... then that's their problem not yours and just tell them its none of their business and walk away . "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.” Found this quote on a website... befitting I think.... Meli

Had that happen to me as well. FuckBookHookups acted decisively when I reported it. So bravo to them. They did not get anything out of me and they won't. I basically told them that anyone they were planning to contact already knows about me and it is not like I am rich or running for office, so to take their best shot. Also informed them that I had screenshots of our entire contact and just by making that threat they were committing a felony which I was reporting to the authorities. Which I also did. I will not negotiate with terrorists. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

What I have noticed is that men and women who contact me on IM want me to text them to a number they provide, which would be a mistake to do so. It is better to get a cheap pre-paid phone to get more information without giving up your personal info.

It isn't something that would concern me. I knew it was only a matter of time before the scammers would get hip and consider those who have something to hide.Maybe not for extortion reasons but just for the challenge. It would probably be listed it on truth finders website. A ticked off employee perhaps? Using more than all the road!

No, I haven't had this yet. I have had a lot of women wanting me to contact them on different sites, but not this yet. Thank you for the warning.
